  8.     You could call him the John Sununu of Poland. He's a
  9. college dropout and part-time taxi driver who followed LECH
  10. WALESA out of the Gdansk shipyards to become his personal
  11. bodyguard and chauffeur. Today MIECZYSLAW WACHOWSKI is sitting
  12. pretty in Warsaw's Belvedere Palace running the President's
  13. private office. He apparently sees himself at the center of
  14. Walesa's inner circle of advisers, but his colleagues regard him
  15. as boorish, arrogant and power hungry. Like Woody Allen's Zelig,
  16. he has elbowed his way into so many official photo ops that
  17. local photographers delight in cropping him out of their prints.
